A former well-known advertising photographer, Alain Amiand now spends his time photographing the word "Hotel" wherever his travels take him. This vision of Alain Amiand exposes to us the infinite variety of the presentation of the word "Hotel" which, happily, reminds us that not all in this time of globalization is standardized.

Milestones :

1944: born in Toulouse (France)

1982: selected by The Creative Black Book (USA) as one of the top 2000 European advertising photographers.

1994: chosen as a photographer of reference by Nikon (Japan) in company with Jean-Louis Bloch-Lainé, Alain Ernoult, Dominique Issermann, Peter Lindbergh, Beni Trutmann, etc...

1995: exhibit at the Museum "Galerie du Château d'Eau" in Toulouse (France) which acquired one of his works.

2005: first-ever photo of the word "Hotel".

2006: his works make an entrance into the collections of the following:

· "Musée de la Photographie" in Charleroi (Belgium).
· "FotoMuseum" in Antwerp (Belgium).
· "fotomuseum den haag" in The Hague (Holland).
· "Casoria Contemporary Art Museum" in Naples (Italy).
· "Musée de l'Elysée" in Lausanne (Switzerland).
· "Zarautz Photomuseum" in San Sebastian (Spain).

2008: solo exhibit scheduled at the "Zarautz Photomuseum".

Around 20 years remain for me to reach my goal : in the beauty and the variety of my photos, through the artistic content of my compositions, I allow people to know about our diversity and accept our differences, as a wealth for humankind.
